My name is Lyla and I have just turned four. I was born with a very rare brain disorder which caused me to have quadriplegic cerebral palsy. There is no cure for cerebral palsy.
Quadriplegic cerebral palsy affects my whole body and means that my arms and legs doesn’t always do what my brain tells them to do and its hard for me to build up my muscle strength. I need help to sit up tall and play and I use a lot of special equipment to help me stand up and to help me start walking.
My mummy and daddy say that I am a funny, bright and determined little girl who knows her own mind. and I love balloons, dolls, music, people (especially my big brother) and making a mess.
There is therapy and special equipment which can help me become independent but these are very costly.
I need support and love to help me learn how to do everything that my big brother and my friends can do in my own way.
You can follow my adventures on my mummy’s Blog and on my Facebook page.
